Kinderrechtencommissariaat
De Kinderrechtencommissaris verdedigt de rechten en behartigt de
belangen van het kind.
Zij ziet hij toe op de naleving van het in 1989 door de
Verenigde Naties aangenomen Verdrag inzake de Rechten van het Kind (IVRK);
zij staat in voor de opvolging, de analyse, de evaluatie en de
bekendmaking van de levensomstandigheden van het kind en treedt op als
vertolker van de rechten, de belangen en de noden van het kind.
Zij screent regelgevende initiatieven m.b.t. conformiteit met het
IVRK; zij kan klachten van minderjarigen behandelen en informatiecampagnes
opzetten.
Centrum
rechten van het kind
Het Centrum voor de Rechten van het Kind werd opgericht in 1978 en wordt
geleid door Emeritus Prof. Dr. E. Verhellen.
Het Centrum is als functionele entiteit verbonden aan de Vakgroep Sociale
Agogiek van de Universiteit Gent, onder leiding van Prof. Dr. M. De Bie.
Het legt zich toe op de wetenschappelijke studie van kinderrechten
en richt zich sterk op de algemene verspreiding van de inzichten die het
daaromtrent opbouwt.

De website wil via het aanbieden van actualiteit en achtergrondinfo de
informatieuitwisseling over kinderrechten bevorderen en het debat erover
aanzwengelen

Kinderrechtenhuis
Het is een deel van de kinderrechtenbeweging en het heeft een unieke rol
daarbinnen. Het kinderrechthuis is veelzijdig. We zijn zowel in ons eigen
dorp als in het buitenland actief. Op internationaal vlak zijn we
verbonden met ECPAT, zenden we jonge vrijwilligers uit naar
kinderrechtenprojechten in het buiten land, nemen we deel aan
wereldconferenties rond kinderrechten, … In Vlaanderen werken onze
Kinderrechtenanimatoren op een ludieke, speelse manier rond kinderrechten.
Klassen en jeugdbewegingen kunnen langskomen voor allerlei informatieve
spelactiviteiten. Elke zomer organiseren we vakanties voor moeders en
kinderen die op de rand van de maatschappij leven. Samen met crefi
dompelen we kinderen en jongeren gedurende een week onder in verschillende
culturen. De manier waarop je de nationale en internationale dimensie van
het kinderrechtenverdrag in het Kinderrechtenhuis terugvindt, is uniek. We
proberen verrassend uit de hoek te komen.

Belgische senaat
Deze pagina kwam er op initiatief van de werkgroep
"kinderrechten" in de senaat.
De werkgroep heeft erg veel hoorzittingen gehouden. Dit wilzeggen dat ze
'kinder'-specialisten uitgenodigd hebben, ze hebben naar de mening van
deze specialisten geluisterd en ze hebben vragen gesteld. De specialisten
hebben ideeën gegeven om de toestand van de kinderen in België maar ook
in de wereld te verbeteren.
Daarna heeft de werkgroep een rapport gemaakt dat al de
belangrijke resultaten van de besprekingen bevat, maar ook aanbevelingen
[45p.]die gemaakt worden aan de ministers om de toestand van de kinderen
in ons land en overal ter wereld te verbeteren.

Communiceren via nieuwe media zoals het internet en mobiele telefoons
raakt meer en meer ingeburgerd. De nieuwe (r)evoluties volgen elkaar in
sneltempo op, de ene met meer succes dan de andere.
Dat nieuwe media nieuwe horizonten openen, is wel duidelijk. Jammer genoeg
openen ze ook mogelijkheden voor misbruik.
Op initiatief van VT4 hebben een aantal instanties zich verenigd in deze
campagne om jongeren veilig te leren omgaan met nieuwe media.

Retour. Middels voorlichting probeert ECPAT-NL bewustwording van het
probleem van commerciële seksuele uitbuiting van kinderen te vergroten en
betrokkenheid te creëren bij de Nederlandse bevolking bij het tegengaan
van dit probleem.

De strijd tegen de verdwijning en de seksuele uitbuiting van kinderen is
de jongste jaren een belangrijke prioriteit geworden voor de Europese
Unie.
Onder het voorzitterschap van België heeft de Raad van de Europese Unie
in september 2001 een resolutie aanvaard betreffende de bijdrage van
maatschappelijke organisaties bij het opsporen van verdwenen of seksueel
uitgebuite kinderen.

netwerk kinderombudspersonen-ENOC
The European Network of Ombudsmen for Children (ENOC) was formally
established in June 1997, at a meeting in Trondheim, Norway. The Network
links independent offices for children from twelve countries in Europe.
Its aims are to encourage the fullest possible implementation of the
Convention on the Rights of the child, to support collective lobbying for
children’s rights, to share information, approaches and strategies, and
to promote the development of effective independent offices for children.
The
European children's Network- EURONET
A coalition of networks and organisations campaigning for the
interests and rights of children (defined in the 1989 UN Convention on the
Rights of the Child as all persons under 18 years of age). They share a
common concern that children as a group are 'invisible' within the
European Union and that the EU develops legislation, policy, and
programmes without taking sufficient - or in many cases any - account of
children's rights or interests.
As a result of intensive campaigning by Euronet, the 1997 Amsterdam treaty
includes for the first time in EU history a specific reference to
children, together with other provisions which may be used to promote
children's interests.

Children in Europe programme
The Separated Children in Europe programme was established in 1997 as
a response to this situation and seeks to improve the situation of
separated children through research, policy analysis and advocacy at the
national and regional levels. It is a joint initiative of UNHCR
and Save
the Children and is based on the complementary mandates and areas of
expertise of the two organisations. UNHCR's responsibility is to ensure
international protection of refugee children and of those seeking asylum;
Save the Children is concerned to see the full realization of the rights
of all children.
The Programme includes 28 countries, 17 in Western Europe, 8 in Central

Children as Partners (CAP) is a project of the International Institute
for Child Rights and Development (IICRD) based at the University of
Victoria in Victoria, Canada.
The aim of CAP is to support young people and adults to work together so

participate as set out in the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child.

The Child Rights Information Network (CRIN) is een netwerk dat
informatie verspreidt over het kinderrechtenverdrag aan

ECPAT
- End child Prostitution, Child Pornography and Trafficking of
children for sexual purposes
is een netwerk van organisaties and individuen die campagne voeren tegen
commerciële seksuele uitbuiting van kinderen, ofwel kinderprostitutie,
kinderporno en kinderhandel voor seksuele doeleinden. ECPAT is in 1990
opgericht om een einde te maken aan kinderprostitutie in relatie tot
reizen in Azië. Inmiddels is dit werkveld verbreedt en voert ECPAT
campagne in meer dan 60 landen,waaronder Nederland.
